About Troy Spencer

Troy Spencer is rooted in family, hard work, and a deep commitment to community. Raised outside Charlotte, NC, he grew up learning the value of keeping your word and treating people with respect. Those lessons shaped him from a young age, whether it was putting in long days on construction sites, working around cattle and horses, or competing in athletics from wrestling to baseball and soccer. Five years ago, Troy and his wife Heather made North Myrtle Beach their full-time home, though their ties to the area stretch back more than a decade.

Family has always been at the center of Troy’s journey. He and Heather first met in eighth grade, stayed connected through the years, and eventually built a life together grounded in resilience and perseverance. After a long road with IVF, they welcomed their daughter Sterling, a joy that reinforced Troy’s determination to fight for a stronger, safer future for the next generation. His mother also lives in North Myrtle Beach, further deepening his family’s roots in the community.

Troy brings 13 years of experience as President and CEO of Spencer Holdings Group, a company founded by his father and grandfather in 1981. From sweeping job sites as a teenager to running multimillion-dollar projects today, he has worked every level of the business. His expertise in real estate investments, construction, and property management has not only built success but has also given him the chance to help families in distress, particularly those facing foreclosure, find solutions during difficult times. His leadership has been recognized with honors such as Builder of the Year 2024 and consistent top ratings with the Better Business Bureau (A+) and Google reviews (5 Star).

Outside of business, Troy has given back as a high school wrestling coach for more than a decade, mentoring young men into adulthood while leading teams to top state rankings and collegiate opportunities. His service extended beyond the mat, organizing outreach projects for disaster relief and low-income families across the Carolinas. These experiences shaped his belief that true leadership means serving people where they are, not just talking about it.

Today, Troy is running for mayor to challenge the status quo and bring fresh leadership to North Myrtle Beach. Motivated by his neighbors, fellow business owners, and his own family, he is committed to strengthening public safety, supporting police and fire departments, addressing homelessness and drug issues, and creating policies that improve everyday life for residents. Troy believes in term limits, accountability, and using his business knowledge to bring in smart revenue for the city without compromising its character. Above all, he stands by his word. When Troy Spencer says he will do something, he does it.

When he is not working or serving the community, Troy enjoys the simple but meaningful moments with his wife, daughter, and two dogs, whether it is spending time on the beach, exploring new places together, or tinkering with his growing collection of classic Volkswagens and Porsches.
